WACEP hosted the 2026 Spring Symposium and 34th Annual Emergency Medicine Research Forum at the Brookfield Conference Center in Brookfield, WI on April 1–2, 2026. The symposium featured a range of timely topics in emergency medicine, including pediatric readiness, toxicology, substance use treatment, AMA discharges, and other emerging clinical challenges, along with a “Hot Topics” session covering trends in patient care, policy, and practice.
The program included a keynote presentation by Dr. Barry Rumack on “Acetaminophen Advances and Challenges,” as well as an evening keynote by Drs. Michael Kim and Lorin Browne on pediatric mental health. Attendees also connected during networking receptions and exhibitor sessions.
The Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Luncheon highlighted WACEP’s accomplishments and recognized outstanding contributions. In partnership with the University of Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Research Forum featured oral and poster presentations.
