The WACEP 2020 Spring Symposium has been CANCELLED due the pandemic spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of all attendees is our top priority. We are looking at the possibility of offering courses online and additional information will be forthcoming. We will also follow up with registered attendees to review the process for refunding registration fees.

VIEW CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

TARGET AUDIENCE: This activity is designed for emergency physicians, primary care providers, advanced practice providers, residents and medical students.

ANNUAL EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESEARCH FORUM: WACEP recognizes the efforts being taken to develop innovative models of care, caring for unique patients, and advancing the specialty through research. In partnership with the Departments of Emergency Medicine at both the University of Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin, WACEP hosts the annual Wisconsin Emergency Medicine Research Forum during the Spring Symposium. The Research Forum includes poster sessions and oral presentations. For planning purposes, participants who wish to attend only the Research Forum sessions are still required to register. Questions may be directed to demresearch@medicine.wisc.eduThe Research Forum is not accredited for continuing medical education.

UNIQUE PROCEDURES WORKSHOP:  This course will include didactic learning and hands-on practice with models and novel simulation techniques, and will cover a number of procedures including: Lateral canthotomy; Pigtail catheter; Chest Tube; Cric; Transvenous pacer; Precipitous delivery; Awake intubation with Disposable bronchoscopy; and Priapism (exact procedures subject to change). Registration is limited to ensure adequate hands-on instruction. 

CME ACCREDITATION: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American College of Emergency Physicians and Wisconsin Chapter, American College of Emergency Physicians (WACEP). The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
DESIGNATION: The American College of Emergency Physicians designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
